What is LifeDNA? Everything You Need to Know

At LifeDNA we use your DNA to identify specific health and wellness requirements, as well as provide you with personalized insights that are uniquely tailored to you and your individual needs.

Our CEO and Co-Founder, Cyril Moukarzel, states, “Our mission is to inspire people to use the power of their DNA so that they can live a healthier and more fulfilling life. Our DNA is essentially the blueprint of our life. And to me, it's pretty crazy that we don't use that valuable information to help improve health and wellness today.”

We are completely blind to what is happening inside of our bodies and are unaware of what we need to ensure a healthy and fulfilling life. At LifeDNA we provide a platform that allows our customers to learn about what their body is made of, and what they can do with the information.

To understand what our bodies need, we must start with our genetic code. Our DNA acts as an instruction manual, telling our bodies how to build enzymes and proteins.

Our DNA ultimately shapes who we are, but to understand the full picture, we must also look at lifestyle, environment and biometric data, something that we’re fully focused on at LifeDNA.

By delving into who we are at LifeDNA and what we do, we hope to inspire you to tap into your own genetic insights to live a healthier, more fulfilled life.

We’re Solving a Healthcare Problem

The problem with modern healthcare is twofold:

  1. It’s reactive: We go to the doctor when we feel sick, at which point it’s mostly too late.
  2. It’s one-size-fits-all: We get the same treatment  as every other patient with the same symptoms, even though every single person is unique.

This model needs to change.

Rather than being reactive, and standardized, we believe healthcare and wellness need to be proactive, and personalized.

“Healthcare is reactive, it's also one-size-fits-all. There's very little personalization when it comes to medicine or wellness. You go to your doctors, they ask you a few questions about yourself, and that's pretty much it. They provide a very similar treatment to everybody,” Cyril states as he describes the problem with modern medicine.

But here’s the thing:

Everyone is different because our genetics are different.

The way you might react to a medication, a food, or a virus, can be drastically different from your neighbor. Based on your DNA, you can react positively or negatively towards certain types of foods. DNA can also impact how you absorb certain vitamins or minerals.

Personalization in wellness  has lacked for years. When you go into a health food store, you'll find multivitamins labeled “for men” or “for women,” which suggests that all men or women were built the same.

Instead of reacting to illness, trying to solve it after-the-fact, and implementing standardized practices, we need to take preventative action from the start in an individualized way.

To do this, it is critical that we understand how the body works, starting all the way from its code...genetics.

At that moment, LifeDNA was born, and we’ve been providing health reports with personalized recommendations based on your unique genetic code ever since.

Our Core Values Drive Everything We do at LifeDNA

We live and breathe by our values in a way that allows us to focus on impacting your life by providing excellent service and an unparalleled understanding of your body.

In our CEO’s words, “The main reason why we started LifeDNA is to have an impact on as many people as possible in the world by helping them live healthier lives.”

Honesty and integrity are core to who we are, which is why we take our customer’s privacy seriously. Our customers trust us with their most valuable data--their DNA--and we don’t take that lightly. Everything we do ensures that the genetic data we’re responsible for is handled with extreme care.

In addition, our team always  drives to stay up to date with new research and new scientific breakthroughs that come to ensure we’re providing you with the most informative and up-to-date information in genetics.

We’re currently partnering with University of Hawaii on a collaboration study on COVID-19. The goal of the project is to understand how genetics and ethnicity play a role in expressing COVID symptoms. By conducting this research, we hope to be able to use genetic testing to identify those who are the most vulnerable to the virus.

Check out our CEO, Cyril, discuss how genes and COVID are related on CNN:

“LifeDNA Talks About DNA and Its Impact on Your Susceptibility to COVID-19”

Needless to say, we want to be the premium information source for your health and wellness based on sound research and genetic testing. We look forward to conducting more research efforts and updating our database as the global understanding of genetics grows.

We’re on a Mission to Optimize Your Health and Wellness With Genetic Reports

Getting your LifeDNA genetic report is simple. You can:

  1. Upload past DNA testing from companies like 23andMe for analysis
  2. Order a DNA kit from LifeDNA, take the test, and send it back

Whatever option you choose, you’ll have complete access to the LifeDNA database so you can see detailed reports that have numerous insights about your genetics, including recommendations about your specific health and wellness traits.

Some of these categories include:

  • Nutrition
  • Fitness
  • Health and Wellness
  • Vitamins and Supplementation
  • Skincare
  • Disease
  • COVID-19

We always emphasize the actions to take after you’ve read your report.

Cyril explains, “If you read your nutrition report and it tells you that you don't metabolize carbs well but your metabolize fats better, we have the ability to take that information and then translate it into an actionable meal plan for you to achieve your goals.”

The bottom line is your DNA is powerful, and our genetic testing and individualized reports create personalized recommendations to help you optimize your wellbeing.

We Hope to be The Future of DNA Testing

As we mentioned, we’re always striving for innovation.

We’re excited about some of these recent releases and milestones for the company:

  • In November we are releasing a LifeDNA nutrition app including full meal plans based on your DNA, lifestyle, and goals.
  • We’re working on releasing fitness plans to help you optimize your workouts based on genetics.

Through relentless work, we’re taking genetic testing to the next level!
